Internet

What is the internet? I don't mean literally I mean personally, philosophically. Is it what you want it to be? What you make it? From here on I will occasionally and arbitrarily refer to the internet as "2.0" If you can't figure out why then Google it or something.

For me, the internet is more of an escape (I use that term VERY loosely) . My life is filled with either mundane regimens or extremely melodramatic occurrences that are nothing but unavoidable, undesirable burdens.
My days are spent bored sitting in classes that wouldn't be challenging if I had to do the work blindfolded, and spending time home alone. The group of people I spend time with during school are not able to spend time with me (or they don't try, god knows I sure don't put forth that much initiative). Life is so, uninteresting.

2.0 is my second life, because I can live there.
I get to spend my time modding a great forum, chatting with people who share the same interest (being in a small country town most people in here barely know about computers, anime, etc.) So in that sense 2.0 is a place that is a great place, IF you go about it the right way. Of course most of the internet is filth and trash, but you don't HAVE to go to those places (even though I go).

Well I just felt like ranting.

  1. People strive to find acceptance and power. If the internet is the only place that a person is offered this then the internet they'll roam.
